WARNING TO ALL EXCHANGE STUDENT!!!!!

Please insist on a receipt when dealing with Kruidtuin and Thomas More.

I had a dispute regarding rent paid in cash for September 2016 and is now just being ignored by Kruidtuin and Thomas More.

My questions to them were the following:

"If the deposit in cash was not paid according to Gerda, why was I not notified in the last 7 months that there was rent outstanding?

Why must I only find this out with the refund of the deposit?

I have 2 witnesses that the rent was paid in cash against Gerda’s word.

Please answer the question as I am being ignored on this specific question. What are the rules around rent not paid? Surely you would advise or remind the tenant that rent is outstanding. If it was for the last month of January, I would have understood, but 7 months went by (Sept 2016 – March 2017) without any reminder that rent for the month of September 2016 was outstanding. "

It has been more than a month now and no response from Thomas More or Kruidtuin.

I NOW HAD TO CANCEL THE ORIGINAL REFUND OF EUR90 AS THEY CANNOT EVEN GET THE NAME OF MY ACCOUNT CORRECT AS PER THE MAIL THEY REQUESTED FOR MY ACCOUNT DETAILS. THEY REFUSED TO REVISE THE ACCOUNT NAME AFTER SEVERAL REQUESTS TO THEM.

THE INSTITUTION NOW HAS EUR265.77 OF MY MONEY. IT SEEMS THAT THIS IS THEIR MO, IGNORING ALL REQUESTS HOPING THAT IT WILL DISAPPEAR. I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY KIND OF CORRESPONDENCE OR FEEDBACK FROM THEM. PATHETIC TO SAY THE LEAST!!!!

This is now exactly the reason why I had to revert to the aggressive tone of voice and threats.

Once Gerda sent me a mail explaining the calculations used on 30 March 2017, I was then ignored on all other mails / requests hoping that I would just accept the dispute as closed, exactly what Alexander is doing now.

If this is their highest ethical standards, then I will make sure that you they are known as such.

Please confirm the following in your meeting with them as they do not have the guts to do it themselves.

• Why I was not informed once that the rent for Sept 2016 was outstanding. (Basic Admin)

• Gerda insisted that I send her my bank details per mail and even after receiving the details via mail, they still get the bank details wrong. (Basic Admin)

• Clearly they have a problem with admin, which emphasises the fact that Gerda did not follow standard procedure as per your mail and definitely took the cash and neglected to issue a receipt.

• I require a copy of the fire insurance in Art 6 if they have one.

• I refer to Art. 7 – Ask them to read their contract and explain the damages to the rented property.

• I require a copy of the registration as per Art 17 if they have one.

• I require a copy of the regulations where my daughter signed for it as per Art 19 if they have one.

• I require a signed copy of inspection of the unit when my daughter left as Gerda requested her to put the keys in an envelope. Gerda never inspected the unit.

PARENTS/STUDENTS
WHEN DEALING WITH THIS INSTITUTION, BE AWARE AS THIS IS THEIR SO-CALLED HIGHEST STANDARD OF ETHICS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
